By the end of your junior year, you should know the schools to which you will apply. Think through your summer vacation--look for ways to improve your application (both through your resume and your experiences). For example, an internship in a field that interests you will both fill out your resume and provide useful fodder for your essays. I help develop organizational systems, and calendars, plan recommendations and keep track of correspondence with teachers, guidance counselors and colleges. I work to help develop ideas for essays, ask questions to help you focus your thinking and point out areas that need polishing. I won't write or edit essays--this is YOUR work. It is one thing for me to say "this sentence confuses me" and quite another to rewrite it for you. I am also available to discuss college experiences. Having worked at a small, private, liberal arts college, a medium-sized state university and a large state school, I have a good sense of the advantages and disadvantages of various schools. |
